Dog Friendly Cottages in the Lake District

We don’t mearly accept dogs, we are the ultimate dog friendly self catering operators in the lakes?! All our studio apartments and cottages are dog friendly for the ultimate Lake Distrcit holiday with your canine companion. From the hard floors and leather sofas to avoid trapped hairs to the welcome doggy baskets, dog baths (it can get muddy up here!) and even dog tags with our details on it.

Dog Friendly Welcome Pack

A visit to Low Nest is not just a retreat for you, but for your dog as well. Upon arrival you will find a welcome basket filled with treats, poo bags, torch, dog tags, two litle towels and travel waterbottle as well as a couple of extra throws.

In each basket you will also find a dog tag with our details on it. If the worst should happen and you loose your dog while out walking in the Lake District then the person who finds them will have our contact details.

Dog Bath

We all know it can be wet in the Lake District and with this comes mud! All visitors to our cottages and apartments have access to a specialist dog bath in the utility room. Lovingly modelled here by Freya and Mackie.

On Site Walking

Whether it’s for a morning walk,  a night time pee (for the dog, not human) or just to stretch the legs (human and dog); we always have 2 acres of stock free fields to walk around. In total we have 4 acres dedicated to the Studios, 2 of woodland and 2 of pasture land. However to keep the grass under control we like to use livestock so will have 2 acres available at a time.

If the farmer is having a good year we might let him put some lambs on both areas for a couple of months, but we try and avoid this if possible. We will still have the 1/4 acre dog exercise paddock, so don’t worry.

Walks On The Doorstep

We’re lucky enough to have a number of incredible dog friendly walks right on our doorstep. From short strolls to the stone circles, Walla Crag and High Rigg, to longer mountain walks with the Helvellyn mountain range across the valley.
